亚航在2016年5月18日开始全面落实自助登机制度，马航（MAS）也不落后推出相同制度。
据马航在官方网站发表的声明，所有在KLIA 出发的马航经济舱乘客（Economy Class），均需自助登机（Self Check-in）。乘客可以自由选择自助登机的方法，分别是Web Check in、App Check in 和 KLIA Kiosk Check in。马航的Check in有效期是出发前的48小时。
Reminders for Self Check-In and Transit via KLIA
* Self Check-in via Web / Mobile / Airport kiosk is mandatory for Economy Class passengers departing from KLIA. Avoid queuing at the airport by arriving early and dropping off your luggage at our counters.
* For passengers on transit at KLIA, update your baggage tag number(s) at any of our transfer desks to ensure your luggage arrives on time.
